We’re all guilty of putting things off… Why? Because we THINK we have that one thing that we are not promised: MORE TIME. “I’m going to wait to stop smoking/drinking; I got plenty of time to get myself together”; “I’m going to stop fornicating after the next couple of times”; “We are gonna shack up a few more years & then get married”; “Oh Imma be ready to answer the calling God has on my life in just a little while…. Let me get these last few things out my system” We’ve ALL said some of these things & probably still saying it now. But I just wanted to tell somebody, myself included, that tomorrow nor the next hour is promised. The time is NOW
How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.” Otherwise you are boasting about your own pretentious plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it. (James 4:14-17 NLT)
